We continue to carry out painstaking research on a diverse range of mouldable raw materials with a view to reducing environmental impact. This research has led to our adoption of ABS resin, which is fully recyclable and free from both lead and cadmium. Furthermore, Lecce Pen Company plays a very active role in recycling used PET plastic water bottles normally sourced from refuse stations through collection programmes (ECO REC material).
Also, we have an unrivalled pedigree in the use of biodegradable materials, particularly
Mater-Bi, a mouldable corn starch which is used in the production of writing instruments.
We have a programme of continuous investment in services and technology, much of which is hybrid, and where possible we pursue a policy of self-reliance.
This philosophy has served us well as it allows us to control all aspects of the workflow from beginning to end. Our in-house facilities of refill manufacturing, injection moulding, automatic assembly and printing department allows us to offer a very rounded and flexible service that would not have been possible otherwise – particularly where quality is concerned. This theme of self-reliance continues into product design itself. We are both pro-active and reactive in our approach to design. Lecce Pen has always been synonymous with innovative styling but we are also pragmatic in our approach by incorporating market demands on styling into the overall design concept.
Turning to quality matters specifically, it is notable that Lecce Pen Company was the first Italian Pen manufacturer to be accredited with the UNI EN ISO 9002 quality standard. This was in 1992 and some eleven years later, in 2003 we were accredited with the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 quality standard. These accreditations are awarded only after stringent and rigorous compliance criteria is met which bears testimony to our commitment to quality products, price and customer service. These accolades, for us, serve to mark points in a long journey that is uniquely Lecce Pen. A journey fuelled by the human factors of passion for our art and a sense of tradition blended with the best that technology and its associated systems can offer.
